The DSWD Academy as one of the flagship programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development aims to be the center for excellence in the Asia and Indo-Pacific that will provide competitive learning opportunities for professional development in social work practice.
The establishment of the Academy specifically aims to
Provide globally competitive capacity building opportunities for professional development using both international and local resource materials on social welfare and development and social protection.
Increase the knowledge, attitude and skills on social welfare and development practice, through sustained capacity-building of social welfare and development workforce in the delivery of gender and socially inclusive programs and services to the vulnerable and marginalized sectors.
Create an avenue where social welfare and development workforce and other paraprofessionals can benchmark good practices and innovations in the field of social welfare and development, and social protection.
Strengthened social work practice in the different fields of social welfare development.
